Windows 10 support? It's ready and waiting.Ħth Gen Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processors and Intel Pentium/Celeron Processors for Socket LGA-1151Ĥ x DIMM, Max. The MSI Z170A GAMING M7 is not just ready to push a stock-clocked gaming box if you want to push your new CPU hard for those extra few FPS, you can do so. Excited by what MSI's Z170A GAMING M7 offers from the moment it arrived, I have eagerly been waiting for the opportunity to talk about it more. However, not just the platform changes interest me this time around. With this being the first motherboard review we are posting with a new CPU, performance comparisons to past platforms are unavoidable. Intel's "Skylake" and Z170 are our first taste at dual-channel DDR4, and if you paid attention to new product releases, you might have heard that this results in much higher DDR4 speeds than with Intel's quad-channel X99 Express (G.Skill is touting kits up to 4 GHz). Bringing together Intel's "SkyLake" CPUs and DDR4, the MSI Z170A GAMING M7 packs a ton of drive connectivity thanks to the Intel Z170 chipset. I have had the MSI Z170A GAMING M7 on my test bench for a while now. There are different tiers to their product line-up now, with the MSI Z170A GAMING M7 falling into the "Enthusiast GAMING" category. MSI has had this product focus for a while now, and they do put together a decent product set at each price point, along with an all-enveloping red and black color scheme that carries on with their VGAs, laptops, prebuilt PCs, and more.

You could have the computer store do a full test on your system to see whats wrong with it. Your last best bet is to go ahead and buy a new motherboard, cpu,ram and psu, If it kicks on immediately its a safe bet to assume your psu got fried, now if it does not come back on and you know the psu is working. I suggest you unplug the psu from the computer, go by a computer store and ask them for psu you can test with.īring it back home, unplug the video card and hdd/ssd/cd-dvd drives, plug the computer into a sure protector then power it on. To a point where half of it will not function like it should or just not come back on at all. Why did you not shut down the machine for the time being and unplug it to prevent any damages ?Īnytime you do that you're playing russian roulette with your system being fried completely or zapped. If you knew you had a thunderstorm going on and you know the computer is plugged up. Let us know how you do.īefore I began helping you out, let me ask you somethings. The video below is pretty good at explaining what next. I do this by taking the mobo and using a known good PSU - the mobo should work (if it does not work, either it or something on it is broken and if it DOES work, then the problem is probably the PSU). If satisfied you have good power from the wall, it is time to take everything out of the case and to check it component by component. Confirm you have good power by trying another system on the circuit.

If not, do determine if they are functional or might need a new fuse or a reset. First, determine if you have a Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) or a rated surge suppressor - if so - and if in warranty - you may be able to make a claim under a 'guaranty' which many of these devices have. This could be an issue with some component other than the mobo (PSU, CPU, CPU fan, etc, etc).Īfter a catastrophic failure like yours, consider reviewing ALL of you system piece by piece. It may not be the right kind of power, the 'power good' signal is needed.

If no manual, go to mobo manufacturer's website and download.īlue light probably means that you 'have power to the motherboard'.
